It's a devastating diagnosis that profoundly changes the life of the patient, and their family. Even in early stage detection, it puts your whole life in question. You may feel perfectly well yet, can't understand how you can have a potentially fatal disease.

Some people will deny the meaning of their cancer presence.  Others will fall into hopeless despair. Still, there are those who will seek a way to come to terms with their disease - and they are for who this website was created.

For many patients, like myself, cancer is a ever present concern. It will remain an issue for the rest of my life. It has changed everything about me and the way I approach others. It has given me more of a life than I ever had. It has offered my family and I, much more meaning and joy together.

There are times when I actually forget I have cancer, then I'm just like everyone else; I dream, I have goals, and I look forward to the future. It makes me realize that its okay for me to want to have a life. Since I'm aware that I'm not going to live forever, my priorities have changed a bit.

My hope is that my experience will help you face your diagnosis, no matter what the situation. You have an opportunity to be transformed by this challenging disease. How you choose to handle it will make all the difference in the quality of your days.
It's the word no one wants to hear.
